Today, only the House met in session for a short time.  They did not vote on our bill.  We were able to talk with legislators who continue to be undecided on this vital issue for us. 

The House returns to Springfield this Sunday, January 9.  The Senate comes back on Monday.  Senate Bill 737 remains in the House and ready to be called by the Speaker for a vote following it passage in the House Executive Committee last Wednesday with a vote of 8 to 3.  In order to pass in the House, the bill needs at least 60 Representatives to vote YES.  Following its passage, it will need to return to the Senate for consideration of the House changes.

Please continue to contact your representative.  This bill could be voted on as soon as Sunday or Monday in the House.  Tell your legislator how important this bill is to horse racing.  Tell your story. 

It is very important that legislators hear from you.  When they do not hear from you they think that everything is alright in our world.
