Today, on Sunday, the House was in Springfield in session. They were focused on worker's compensation issues and senior citizen free ride. In the morning, the Speaker announced that they will again focus on workers compensation. Following the Inauguaration of the Executive Branch tomorrow, the House has plans to meet in session again.
From our discussions, it appears that Senate Bill 737 should be called sometime on Tuesday. As you know, a new Illinois General Assembly will be sworn in at noon on Wednesday, January 12.
Do not stop contacting your legislator. Several legislators remain undecided on this issue. Please continue to contact your representative. Tell your legislator how important this bill is to horse racing.
