This amendment is wholeheartedly supported by the ITHA as well as all of the horse racing organizations. The provisions for horse racing are basically the same bill as last year's Senate Bill 737 which allows slots at tracks. Also, this amendment includes provisions for five new casinos (Chicago, Park City, South Suburban, Rockford and Danville).
Senate Bill 744 is posted for a legislative committee hearing in the morning (Wednesday, May 25, 2011) at 9:00AM in the House Executive Committee. We will let you know this outcome of this important hearing so that you can immediately contact your legislators to urge them to support this vital legislation. If Senate Bill 744 passes out of the House Executive Committee it then goes to the floor of the House for further consideration.
At this time, the legislature is still expected to adjourn Tuesday, May 31, 2011.
