Notice from Special ITHA Board Meeting

The nomination of Mike Campbell as a candidate for ITHA president was the subject of a special hearing of the ITHA Board of Directors on Thursday, Oct. 17. At the hearing, held pursuant to ITHA bylaws, the Board considered a Certified Protest put forward by the ITHA Election Committee due, among other reasons, to his personal description to the ITHA Board of his relationship with and investment in a Standardbred racino development group and the concern that this constituted a prohibited conflict of interest under the ITHA bylaws. The ITHA Board at this hearing on the Certified Protest considered testimony and evidence presented. Mr. Campbell participated in this hearing, questioned all witnesses, and presented his own testimony. At the conclusion of the hearing, the Board by majority vote found that the Certified Protest was meritorious and then, additionally, determined that the necessary and appropriate remedy is removal of Mr. Campbell from the ballot.
